Introducing Weingken English School (WESN)
A Comprehensive Education Focused on Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes, and Action for Inspired, Lifelong Learners.
It is our pleasure to introduce to you Weingken English School in Naharkatia. WESN was founded in 2012.
Members of our dynamic school community represent different cultures which gives us a great mixture
of different experiences. The Campus has Preschool classes (Ages 3 and 4), a Kindergarten, and a
Primary School (Grades 1-8)
Weingken English School (WESN) in Naharkatia now running under the approval of the district education
department which follows the teaching methodology & curriculum framework of central board pattern
because WESN is aiming to fulfill the central board criteria for being affiliated by the same.
WSEN focuses on continuum Primary Years Programme and enables students to further develop the skills,
knowledge, and attributes they start to acquire in primary school. Each year, WESN will add an
additional grade level to allow all children to continue their education at our Campus.
As an independent school, WESN offers a comprehensive education that incorporates the five essential
elements of the program (Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes, Conceptual Understanding, and Action).
The WESN mission and education philosophy promote a balance of acquiring knowledge, developing skills,
and promoting positive attitudes and attributes that will contribute to every student’s capability to be
an inspired, lifelong learner.
The students’ action is represented in the WESN vision statement that will guide them to be global
learners who contribute towards world peace. On top of this, classes are time tabled with all respective
board pattern lessons, depending on the ability of the individual, we follow the books high in standard.
WESN is considered to be a community of learners. We are fortunate to have teachers and students
from all over the region and culture, resulting in a multicultural and diverse learning community. We
celebrate our diversity not only in our regular class activities but also by hosting all cultural programs in
our Annual Function.
Teachers design learning activities that empower students’ academic achievement and personal passion
for life-long learning. Social development is a high priority at WESN, and our mixed-age group after
School Program activities promotes interaction among children of different ages.
All lessons, activities, and school events are designed based on our students’ culture, beliefs, and background. Our unique
cultural features are respected and celebrated in order to encourage understanding and appreciation of
diversity. The result is a challenging, non-discriminatory learning environment that is responsive to the
needs of its learners.
Teachers plan lessons and learning activities based on students’ needs. A high
teacher-to-student ratio allows us to know our students well and differentiate instruction to best help
each child achieve his or her learning, personal, and social goals.
Each student is respected as an individual with different strengths and interests. The WESN learning
community includes representatives from a wide variety of backgrounds. Events like Assamese Culture
Day and Exchange Activities with local schools encourage respect and appreciation for other cultures
and our local community in Naharkatia.
The WESN learning community is based on mutual respect and open communication between staff,
parents, and students. Our parents cooperate in many aspects of school life, such as participating in-
class activities, volunteering to enhance our library and media center, accompanying classes on Field
Trips, and holding fundraisers like a bake sale etc.
This page aims to give you a better insight into the fantastic work we do at Weingken English School,
and we hope to welcome you to our school in the near future.
